Java Soulnation Festival, 2 Months Away!

In two months time, the end of October to be exact, Java Festival Production will once more hold Axis Jakarta International Java Soulnation Festival 2009. On 30 and 31 October 2009, music enthusiasts, especially those favoring the R&B, hip hop, rap and soul genres, will be subjected to high quality music treats from the talented musicians, hailing both from abroad and Indonesia. Istora Senayan Jakarta is selected once more as the venue in which performers and lovers will agglomerate in the spirit of urban music.

Since early June 2009, Java Festival Production (JFP) have begun preparing AXIS Jakarta International Java Soulnation Festival 2009, scheduled for 30 and 31 October 2009 at Istora Senayan Jakarta. This year, the theme is "One Nation, One Rhythm".

Amongst the foreign musicians who have confirmed their attendance for Axis Jakarta International Java Soulnation Festival are Arrested Development, Musiq Soulchild, Tortured Soul, DJ Spooky, DJ Mi$$ Yellow, Corporate Lo-Fi, Jessica Mauboy, Laura Izibor and Pete Philly & Perqusite. In addition, Java Festival Production has also included the likes of N*E*R*D, Ne-Yo, The Roots and Xzibit into its wish list.

From Indonesia, the wish list boasts names such as Agnes Monica, Dewi Sandra, RAN, The Boogiemen, Faro, J-Flow, Joeniar Arief, Kungpow Chiken, Maliq 'n D'Essentials, Pandji, RAN, Rap Superstar, Saykoji, Soul ID, Souleh & Soulehah, Soulvibe and many more.

Furthermore, the AXIS Jakarta International Java Soulnation Festival 2009 program team is also preparing a special project bound to captivate the audience, which is another one of Java Festival Production's signature traits. For enthusiasts of hip hop/rap music, there will be a special arena reserved for rap battle, b-boy battle, extreme sports and other special programs.

Road to Axis Soulnation Festival

Prior to the event, AXIS held Road to AXIS Soulnation Festival, a band competition to find talented rap, freestyle dance, beat box band. The competition was held in five big cities, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan and Yogyakarta, starting 6 July 2009. The best performer from each region will get opportunity to perform on one of the AXIS Soulnation Festival stages. The judges consisted of AXIS, Java Festival Production, and radio who partnering in this competition event. This program is especially developed by AXIS to provide a medium for its subscribers to deliver its creativity and to show appreciation on the great talent that Indonesian young musicians have.

For Java Soulnation Festival, Java Festival Production will again implement the e-ticket concept (as implemented for Java Rockin'land). Purchase of the e-ticket is done online through www.javasoulnation.com. Ticket buyers will later receive a verification code which enables them to print their own tickets (which feature barcode). Every e-ticket is equipped with a barcode, verifying the validity of the ticket. Presently, Java Festival Production is the only music/festival promoter in Indonesia implementing this method.
